An aromatic shrub, Rosmarinus officinalis has scaly bark and dense, leather and needle-like leaves. Tiny pale blue blossoms flourish from December through spring. Rosemary can grow nearly up to Two meters in height. The herbs are stem-distilled to obtain a either of colorless or pale Yellow thin consistency fluid with a strong, clear, penetrating, camphor-like and herbaceous aroma. Rosemary branches were customarily used in Roman burial rites. Since it is cultivated in immediacy to the sea, the name Rosemary draws its meaning – “Dew of the Sea”. During the Second World War its leaves were traditionally burned in hospitals to purify the air.
